This weapon is granted as a reward for completing the The Second Dream quest with a complimentary weapon slot and a pre-installed Orokin Catalyst.

Boosted copies can exist built afterward; the pattern drops from the Shadow Stalker, while its Hilt and Blades drop from Conculysts, Ortholysts, Summulysts, and Aerolysts. The Hilt and Blades can also be bought from Cephalon Simaris for 50,000 Continuing  l,000 . All components, except for the blueprint, tin be traded betwixt players.

• The Broken War is a piece of the larger War greatsword, which was split in two following the climax of The Second Dream quest, with the smaller piece torn and re-purposed as a one-handed sword.
• If the energy colour is left uncustomized, the lights along the blade stand for to the elemental damage present on the weapon.
  • The greater State of war's lights turn ruddy with no elemental impairment, similar to when the Shadow Stalker attacks the Tenno, while the Broken War stays blue as in its icon.
• Prior to Hotfix 18.half-dozen.iii (2016-03-23), Cleaved War required War to craft and vice versa, making them the but 2 weapons to have recursive build requirements. This as well meant that the only manner players could ain both weapons at the same time was to buy the Hunhow's Souvenir package, which includes State of war.
• Broken State of war components are only chosen "War Blade/Hilt" in Conculyst and Aerolyst Codex entries.
